EVCOM Clarion Award Winners

Gold award certificate from EVCOM Clarion Awards for Studio Giggle's Short Film: Isolation
Animation, Giggle Thoughts

We’re absolutely over the moon to have won three awards at the 2021 EVCOM Clarion Awards.

The EVCOM Clarion Awards celebrate cause-driven corporate film and events. This year we submitted 3 of our recent projects to the judges and were delighted to find out that all 3 won!

We won Gold in the Innovation Catagory for Isolation, our short film about the 5 stages of grief that we encountered as a result of the first lockdown. Isolation is one of our favourite projects and forever will remind us of the confusing and uncertain weeks in March and April last year. The short film was created using Noitom’s Perception Neuron motion capture suits and real-time rendering software, Notch. The film follows 2 indistinct characters as they leave each other before lockdown. Their moods and colours change throughout the film as they try to keep busy. They both experience denial, bargaining, anger and depression. But this all changes when one character communicates through the internet and companionship resumes.

You can find out more about Isolation here.

We also won a Silver Award in the Brand Communication category for Afi’s Story for Deki. Afi’s story is an animation that we created for Bristol-based charity, Deki, to help them spread their messages far and wide. Deki offer financial, educational and community support to entrepreneurs in Togo. The animation follows the story of Afi, one of Deki’s many successful entrepreneurs. Thanks to a Deki loan, Afi was able to able to grow her small market stall into a very popular and busy shop. This allowed Afi to provide for her family. We loved working on the project and partnering with Deki. We are currently in the process of creating another animation for Deki, you can find out more about that project soon.

Finally, we won a Highly Commended award in the Social Welfare category for Sistas in Strength for Account3. The Sistas in Strength animation was a real passion project for our team and allowed us to help a cause that we really cared about. The Sistas in Strength animation was used to raise awareness of the increase in domestic abuse as a result of the lockdowns as more and more vulnerable people were trapped in their homes with abusive partners. Account3, who commissioned the animation, are a charity based in Tower Hamlets in London. They aim to support women’s economic independence and personal development in the local community.

We’ve loved working on all three of these projects and we’re over the moon to see them gain more recognition and spread even more awareness to these important causes. Now we’re off to celebrate (albeit virtually!).
